The Best Advice...

What is the best advice you ever received? What was the situation, and did the advice help?

The best advice I recived while I was pregnant was from a coworker who had kids. You never know what to expect once the baby is born. You think that once the baby arrives you are going to have a perfect little life.. maybe a little sleep deprived...but you will have a wonderful baby to dress up in cute little clothes and blankets, and cuddle and play with...errr...thanks to this wonderful lady all these myths were dispelled for me... all she said was.. the first 3 months suck... but they do end! She said it honestly, truthfully, not trying to discourage or scare me but I often thought back on her words after I had been up a cazillion times in the night and was changing the 5th nappy in 1 hour, with cracked and bleeding nipples, looking at this tiny helpless being who I wasn't sure I even liked yet... and remembered that it would end... just knowing that helped get me through those not so fun days. Now does any one have any advice to get me through the seemingly neverending 2 year old phase?!?!?!

Advice? Sure...the old saying is that grandchildren are God's reward for not killing your kids when they are teens.

this too shall pass... at least that is what they tell me. the other thing I hear is 'when you have teenagers you will look back on this time fondly." :)

Enjoy the 2s while you can because you will need those fond memories during the teen years! As Stacey said, "This too shall pass!"
